The Relationship between Universities Quality and Economic Efficiency: An Empirical Study in Institutions of Chile
Universities, in the context of the knowledge society and the internationalization of education need to be efficient in their governance, to achieve economic efficiency, and have good levels of institutional quality. This explores the relationship between economic efficiency and institutional quality, specifically seeks to identify whether economic efficiency or not a statistically significant impact on institutional quality. To this end we work with a sample of 59 Chilean universities conducting a bivariate correlation analysis and simple linear regression to statistically evaluate the relationship between economic efficiency and the institutional quality of the universities. The results show a significant relationship (p<0.05) between economic efficiency and institutional quality of universities in Chile.
