The Media and the Process of Organ Donation in Chile
The present work determines the perception of the people with regard to the media in the process of organ donation. The research instrument was a questionnaire applied to a sample of 204 people located in 10 big cities in Chile. The variance of the study was 18,8%, the error reached 2,58%, the dependability, measured by Cronbach Alpha was 0,777 and the validity determined by data auditing was 100%. The variables were identified by means of the focus group method; they were measured by nominal and ordinal scales, measured on the bases of frequencies. It can be concluded that people considered themselves informed and that their main source of information is television; although they think that they have made their decision with the necessary information, they find that more and better information would increase the number of donors.
