  Abstract
Technical Efficiency and Marketing Productivity: Case of a Life Insurance Company
The competitiveness of the Chilean insurance market has led to companies to decide to increase their efficiency and productivity. To increase efficiency, we need to know how well things are done now, and to increase productivity levels, it is necessary to determine the factors that influencing it and quantify its influence under the current conditions. This paper analyzes the case of a life insurance company, where levels of technical efficiency and the factors that determine the marketing productivity are unknown. For this reason, we applied the Stochastic Frontier approach to determine the levels of technical efficiency, along with Econometric Models to quantify the influence of the factors that determine the productivity of marketing. The results of this study show increasing levels of efficiency in time, a marketing productivity determined by several factors depending on the unit under study.
